I think the mic is really dumb. I know that there has been multiple threads about this but I searched and couldn't find them. First of all, who is gonna chant after a turnover, "Get it back packkkk get it back" or "hold them hold them holllllld them." And the dumbest one of them all, "block that kick" on an extra point. No one blocks extra points or its very rare. I searched on SI.com and looked at the top 40 fg kickers this year so far. There have been 235 kicks and only 6 missed extra points for a grand total of 2.5%. I just don't think we need to be treated like children. We know if its a big third down and we know how to yell woooolllllfffff on the kickoffs.

For the most part the fans are quiet. There was on series though that the cheerleaders started a wolf...pack chant or something while we were on offense and the fucking idiots wouldn't shut up.

what makes you so sure of that? I remember 3 distinct plays last night where the quarterback threw the ball at a receiver and the receiver ran the wrong route. That's either caused by someone not knowing the play or because they couldn't hear the playcall and ran what they thought they heard. We also had several offsides penalties that could have been caused by the crowd cheering after we made a big play. One play in particular was in the first quarter from the 3 yard line when we were lined up in a trips formation. the receivers were having to ask each other where to position themselves at after they broke the huddle and got lined up off the tackles. Evans threw a perfect fade to the corner of the endzone, but unfortunately there was no one at the corner of the endzone. Someone (Hill?) ran a square out along the back of the endzone, but he was several yards away from the ball.

as shitty as our offense is with the inexperience on the field and conservative play-calling on the sidelines, we need all the help we can get.

We started the WOLF - PACK cheer on a dead ball during a change of possesion when there was a time out. We stopped when our offense came out onto the field and the people in the stands wouldn't shut up. The students did a good job of stopping when the cheerleaders stopped, but those rich paying alumni/season ticket holders across the way under vaughn towers wouldn't stop.


Also, there were a few instances when the band wouldn't quit playing and the students were yelling at them, we were yelling at them, and one of the wide recievers broke the huddle and was trying hand motions to get the band to quit.

that's not the play I was referring to. the ball that went through Hill's hands started with him lined up close to the tackle. this was one where 3 receivers were in a trips formation about 5 yards off the tackle spot. I don't know who the receivers were, but they all seemed confused about the play call.

You were right about the cheerleaders not leading the cheer when the fans wouldn't shut up. The student section is notorious for that though, and they have been for years. You'd think that they would flash a message on the jumbotron saying "Quiet: Offense at work" like they do at some other stadiums.

stopped my ass. the cheerleaders were still doing the the thing with their pom-poms where they point them to the side that says wolf and then points them to the side that says pack. And at one point, they were still holding up the WOLF and PACK signs but the fans had enough sense to quit then after our offense lined up. But everyone should shut up for the huddle also.
