Quote :
"KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City quarterback Trent Green was awake and had feeling in his extremities but no memory of laying motionless and being taken from the field on a stretcher Sunday following a brutal hit by Cincinnati's Robert Geathers."

why is everyone acting like that was some huge, vicious hit? it was nothing of the sort. it was a normal looking hit as far as intensity is concerned. it was one of those "lucky" strikes, like that perfectly placed punch on the jaw that knocks a person out. trent green got hit in the head on juuuuust the right spot with juuuuust enough force.

true. that's probably what knocked him out, and not the hit. it was like a 1-2 combo.

isnt that unecessary roughness? i mean he was sliding down and was it helmet to helmet? thats some no-call, i'd be pissed if i were a KC fan

^nope. Geathers was being blocked into Trent before he even started sliding, it's not like he could stop.

well

it was odd, he was tacklin the ball carrier and when they collided, the dudes helmet or shoulder pad or somethin barely knicked his chin or helmet, and he just dropped like he caught a heel to his chin...pure knockout type drop

he he didnt move a muscle other than talkin for 20 minutes when they carried him off on the gurney, he could only lift one arm and the medical attendant had to lift his other one which his wrist and hand was in a fixed position.. it wasnt a spectacular hit or anything just got hit right in the sweet spot i guess

Did this result in a penalty? I thought they couldn't hit the QB once he was sliding legs first.

there was another close almost-hit like the one put on Trent Green yesterday and my roommate used the term,

"he about got Trent Greened right there"

I laughed

I used to try to do this to opposing teams' QBs when they tried to slide into a first down. This is a defensive end/linebacker's dream to knock the ever-living fuck out of a sliding QB.
