model 30PW91107

Bought it 30 days ago at circuit city for $711 after tax. It is going back tomorrow with a fuzzy picture, a green line at the top and bottom of the picture, and a purple square at the bottom of the picture. It's like I suddenly have a 10 year old TV

Buyer beware.

theyve got a lot of bad reviews online, particularly the refurbished ones (but at least they are half the price).

Phillips is the last place I would turn to for tech. Their prices are very competive, but not worth the rewards.

Philips has always made crappy tube TVs. The salesman should have at least hinted this to you...

^ nope, in fact he recommended it.

By the way, the model I posted has a typo. Should be: 30PW9110D

That was probably an LCD. Their LCDs are decent (the new models at least).

a 32" lcd for < $700... wouldn't trust that. plus my tube only cost $400 so it still a good bit more for quality LCD.
