are they better for music download than a p2p site like limewire? or not really. I'm pretty much looking for speed. Limewire is dissapointing when it comes to new movies. Also, any recomendations? i2hub was the shit but it's gone.

Piracy in any open forum is asking for suspension and a call from lawyers.

either you do your homework or spend the money to be legal.

At the very least in this situation, pay a couple of bucks to netflix or blockbuster and copy the damn thing.

Legality aside, BT is much better if you go to the right places. piratebay, oink, demonoid, mininova. you can find pretty much whatever you're looking for. Doing it on campus is a bad call though... you could wind up going to a meeting to talk to someone about why what you did was wrong. Happened to a suitemate, and if it happens twice, you get your resnet suspended.

i use limewire for most music downloads. however, bittorrent is awesome for downloading albums, or even entire catalogues.

^^ alot of the better sites require users to maintain a good download/uploading ratio. besides that, the way torrents work is that the more you share, the faster you download. if you don't share at all, then you'll probably won't even be able to download. don't be a leech.

Serious? You know people that have recieved a call from a lawyer? It's a yes or no question.

No. You can force it not to share completed files ... but it will force you to share partially completed downloads.

Torrents CAN be legal but 99.9% of the time aren't. From your first post, what you are asking to do is illegal. Generally, posting to a public message board asking how to do something illegal (how do I grow marijuana?) is a bad idea. Google it up if you really want to know.

With regards to a BT post on TWW? No. Otherwise, Yes.

that site that was just like an FTP directory? yeah man, I miss that. When I first saw a site for BT that kept up with ratios, it made me think of FTPs that used to do the same thing.

This is true. Bush overturned all that crap about free speech a long time ago.
