This thread may get about 8 posts, but I don't care. Anyway, the Jets are 1-0. Up next is New England. With the return of Chad Pennington being a successful one in Week 1, a new coach in Eric Mangini, a solid D, and a young receiver in Jerricho Cotchery, the Jets could be an intriguing team. However, the run game will struggle, and the overall lack of firepower could hurt the team this season.

i wouldn't expect that kind of performance out of Chad ever again

he was just trying to piss off all of the fantasy managers

If this team had a running game, they could contend. Unfortunately, that isn't happening. Chad will see blitz after blitz from here on.

GG J-Co and Coles.

Yeah, I said the same after Week 1. Chad actually looked good again but it's going to be nearly impossible to tread water until Curtis comes back (and even when he does we all know he won't be the Curtis of old). I'm just hoping for SOME production out of the backs..

I can see a 6-7 win season and that is absolutely fine to me.. we all knew this was a building season..

The good news: The Jets are tied for 1st place.

The bad news: The Jets next opponent is Indianapolis.

We'll get more than 8 posts for sure. Maybe 10 if we're lucky.

Seriously tho, i think we should be 2-1 after Week 3. No one should be surprised. I think with our schedule we could seriously go 8-8. If we HAD a defence, which i'm sorry billyboy we don't, and a solid running game, we could go 10-6 11-5. Just look at who we play - Houston, Green Bay, Detroit, Oakland. Then our division games are 2x Miami Buffalo at home. Sure Indy JAX da Bears and the Crapriots will probably beat our ass, but everyone else on their we could take.

I'm exicted b/c we arent expected to do well at all and maybe we wont. But we very well could be a .500 upset team, that spoils some championship fantasy of a few teams.

2002 repeat. Jets 41-Colts 0. Chad for president!

OK, I'm lying. Colts 31 - Jets 14 is my official prediction. I'd love it to be very wrong though. At least it's at home..

Not a bad game W or L. Mangini made a horrible call on the goalline that may have lost the game but the D just held Indy to 3 at the goalline..

goddam, what a turn of events

Colts go downfield and score a TD to move ahead, Justin Miller returns the ensuing kickoff for a TD

Damn, they had my hopes up on that last play. But, as usual, they fell short. It was a good game though. Today, the Jets showed they can play with the big boys. Up next, Jacksonville.

If we can win today we'll finish over .500... The Jags are going to be pissed but it's not an impossible job.. I'm gonna say the Jets lose 24-14 or somewhere around there though..

Well, it was good to see the Jets rebound after that embarrassment in Jacksonville. Up next is Detroit, followed by Cleveland. Who knows, maybe they'll be 5-3 when the bye week comes around.

Leon Washington has looked strong in the last couple of games. And man I love Vilma.

What are the chances they keeping showing Jets games on local tv?

^I don't know, but it was a pleasant surprise. They won't be on this week, due to the fact that they are on the Fox at the same time as the Panthers.

How do yall think the Jets will split up their carries this week? Half Barlow half Washington? Any news on if Curtis is coming back soon like they mentioned?

C-mart should not, i repeat NOT, even play but 1 or 2 home farewell games. At this point we have a legit shot at surprising everyone as a WC. I would love to see L.Washington get more carries as he is one heckuva explosive player.

what we need is some goddamn CB/DBs that can fucking play better than 10+yd cushions in the 4th Quarter.

^^ Having these past few games on TV has been such a great surprise. its been nice to finally catch some games at home instead of in a bar.

the game will be on local TV this week. Well NYC local TV since that's where I'll be. Here's hoping for tickets!

4-3 after beating the Lions. Leon Washington looked solid again today, though it was against Detroit. Up next is Cleveland.

6-5 with the win today.

@ Green Bay
Buffalo
@ Minnesota
@ Miami
Oakland

We can definitely run that or at least go 10-6. 10-6 could be enough but will probably be close. If only the play was called correctly against Cleveland on the force out

-----

Congrats to Jericho Cotchery. I believe this was his first 100 yard receiving game.

7-5 now. Thank you Green Bay for the most enjoyable game of the season.

And you Herm Edwards for giving us new playoff life. Something you couldnt do in NY without trying to fuck it up.

Amedo's @ 4:15p for the game against Buffalo.

What do you think about the game and our chances down the strech? I think we are the spoiler for other teams, in the fact that now JAX, KC, and DEN have to win to their AFC games to stay ahead of us in the wild card spot. I dont necessarily think we're "on the bus", but we will do our part to compete if we can beat these powderpuffs the next 4 weeks.

The Jets can sweep December if they put their minds to it. If they play really high level football, 11-5 is cake.

It's simple. Jets win @ Miami on Christmas night and vs. Oakland coupled with ONE Jax loss and we are in the playoffs...

^^ sorry Buffalo fan. You guys aren't going anywhere.. again.

its not that simple, you could def lose to Miami and Jax is not going to roll over and lose, you chances are almost as shitty as the Bills. And a team that had a good chance of the making the playoffs doesn't lose to a Buffalo Bills team at home, your team won't make it.

I hate to say it.. but.. LETS GO PATS!

and um... I guess lets go Bengals? They have a harder last game and I want the Jets to be the 5 instead of the 6 (like to avoid Baltimore in the playoffs)...
