i think there's like...a discovery channel store or something in the mall. try party city - it's halloween time, but i don't know how accurate they'd be. or try a teacher supply store. my dad work in radiology - they're expensive.

Can't you learn the bones by looking at a book? I mean, that's how I did it in 5th grade...and I sang the "Bones" song that my teacher taught us... 9/13/2006 6:49:29 AM |

Yeah, learning the bones in the body isn't very difficult. I had to learn all of them when I was in middle school. I used a picture in a book and my own body in order to learn them. 9/13/2006 8:32:18 AM |

bones in the human body are easy, but we aren't given a human skeleton in mammalogy. we have to ID bones in lagomorphs, felidae, and canis. gets a lot tougher when you have to be able to pick them out in different critters. especially all the freakin bones in the skull

I bought a human skull on eBay They are very expensive, like $250, even without a full set of teeth or any hardware I bet a decent skeleton with hardware would be like $5k 9/13/2006 4:12:58 PM |

MIDDLE SCHOOL.
We had to learn the actual names of the bones, but we didn't have to know each and every tiny little bone (just the group name). Clavicle, scapula, humerus, radius, ulna, carpal, metacarpal, phalanges, etc. Instead of going into detail like the scaphilod, capitale, lunate, triquetral...
Simply learning every bone in the body is just a matter of memorization. Purchasing a skeleton to get it done just seem over the top.9/13/2006 6:50:45 PM |

^^ well the skeleton itself isnt too bad...its the skull. we have to know 40+ bones that make it up and its really hard to look at a picture and be able to tell exactly what it looks llike... 9/13/2006 9:58:28 PM |

3-d models are abundant online, free and commercial, depending on the accuracy. should still be cheaper than a model skeleton and denenitely would not come with the same freak factor as a full size skeleton sittin in the middle of your room. the only thing the more accurate one will require access to some sort of 3d software. hell i think i got a pretty detailed skull model sittin somewhere in my computer, i would have to check 9/14/2006 12:44:41 AM |

got an entire folder on anatomy.. pretty detailed but the skull is not separated into individual bones (except for jaw and teeth). all of them .3ds files 9/14/2006 1:07:24 AM |

unless powell is going to give us a human skeleton you really need to be looking for dog or cat models to help you out. maybe go trap a rabbit, i mean we have to prepare a skin and skull anyways 9/14/2006 1:35:05 AM |
