I'm in SC doin my co-op at BMW, but I'm gonna need a place to stay when I come back for class in the spring. I'm paying out-of-state tuition, so my parents have decided to buy me a cheap house AS AN INVESTMENT, but also to save on tuition. This is not a hand out, and i wont get it after i graduate so dont even start!
I know I could search the mls listings online before, but now i cant seem to find a place with out giving out some infomation. So what is a website I can use to look at ralieigh mls houses? Also any other suggestions would be appreciate. Anyone selling a house near campus?
I'm also interested in the new townhomes, Autumn Woods, and the corner of Blueridge and Western. $170's with garage, plus great location. 9/14/2006 6:38:45 PM |

if your parents are buying you the place, i think a real estate agent would be worth the investment 9/14/2006 6:43:29 PM |

realtor.com has a functionality where you can map the places and it'll pop up with little flags for each house. You can zoom in and out to narrow the search.
there are a number of people (seems to be always at least 3 on the market) of the condos around campus. Seen em anywhere from 90 to 105, 4br/4ba
We might sell our house, but not til May, and we're not by campus seriously though wait until December to really start looking ... people still on the market then are often itching to dump before they have to pay property taxes. 9/15/2006 12:18:41 AM |

you may want to doublecheck all of the residency requirements for getting in-state tuition before you go through with buying a house. 10/3/2006 7:01:49 PM |

buying a house will not get you instate tuition if you dont have it now. You must have: 1 continous year living in nc, an nc drivers license, paying nc taxes, and nc car registration. You can probaly get away with not having your car registered here if you own a house for a year. 10/3/2006 8:04:26 PM |

basically any website will search MLS without you having to give them info. I like using the York Simpson Underwood site http://www.ysu.com for general searches, and http://www.wral.com/realestate/index.html to look up HOA fees for various properties and http://msweb01.co.wake.nc.us//realestate/ to see pics of the places that don't have pics listed under the mls sheets (and to learn more about sales and tax value and to see other houses on the street).
Hope this helps. 10/3/2006 8:16:52 PM |

yea i know about the year thing, and as soon as i buy the house i will change everything over to that address, but still saving 2 years of out of state tuition is nice 10/25/2006 6:34:04 PM |

they also ask about your parents on the tuition form
so unless they move to nc too, you may still have problems 10/25/2006 6:43:43 PM |
