I finished Free Will..it's really short. I'm not going to turn this forum into a philosophical debate but I think he succesfully dispels the illusion while at the same time making a strong argument that the knowledge of us having no free will is actually empowering to be moral and improve our species. Good stuff.

I liked Moral Landscape as well, fun stuff to think about. I like the introspection his books cause.

I actually really liked it. If you've read any other King books, it's fun to pick out all the little tie-ins to his other stuff - a Where's Waldo of detail nods. It's a nice, depressing book but I'd read it again.

I liked it ok. The premise is interesting, but it drags in places. It's too long. If King wasn't King than a good editor would have cut two to three hundred pages of filler/rambling. Overall, still a good book.

I have a question to you eReader people out there. When do suspect they will slash the prices of ebooks to ~$5?

not anytime soon, so long as the large publishing houses are in league with each other about keeping prices high

I think a few of them are being sued over this:

Just finished Stephen King's new novel 11/22/63 it was a pretty cool read, but about 200 pages too long, like most king books.

Starting Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and What's the Matter with Kansas this week.

Question for you e-book readers out there.

Do you find yourself reading more or less now that you aren't carrying paper around?

if you weren't a heavy ready before has a Kindle or Nook made you read more often?

Best line so far:

Quote :
"I grasp at each second, trying to suck it dry. Nothing happens which I do not seize, which I do not fix forever in myself, nothing, neither the fugitive tenderness of those lovely eyes, nor the noises of the street, nor the false dawn of early morning: and even so the minute passes and I do not hold it back, I like to see it pass."

The first book is lightyears better than all the others, so while I recommend picking it up, I don't recommend using it as a barometer for the others.

Finally getting some use out of my Kindle now. I've read these 3 books in the last few weeks. I really enjoyed the Nintendo book - can anybody recommend some good company history/profile books?

Evidently last night was "World Book Night 2012" (http://www.us.worldbooknight.org/). I ran into a couple that were giving away copies of "Ender's Games" in downtown Greensboro on my way to see "Thor".

I'm going to start the last of the "Fate of the Jedi" series at lunch today. This series has taken way too long to wrap up.

Thanks for alerting me to that.

Delicious - Black, Shayla
Generational Sins - Blair, Samantha
Sweet Temptation (Heat) - Banks, Maya
Sweet Persuasion - Banks, Maya
Stranger - Hart, Megan

Someone on another forum I frequent self-published this book that you can get for your nook/kindle for like $5. He gave me and a few others free copies to read and review. If you like post apocalyptic type fiction like, "Lights Out" or "One Second After" etc. then you would probably enjoy this one.

^ You may have read it, but The Spy Who Came in from the Cold is another good one by Le Carre. It's shorter and a little less complex but I liked the characters more.
