that way by this time next weekend we won't be sorely disappointed with our premature high hopes/expectations if Evans gets a shot to play QB

premature unproven expectations gets us in trouble as a fan base more than anything else

everyone here knows my opinion of Stone and initially my opinion was made soley because everyone just knew Stone was better. I still don't think he's improved enough and now many of you are figuring this out more as this season has been sucking.

if you're going to boo or be anti-amato or whatever next weekend, try not to do it before or at the start of the game...see how the game progresses and give another viewing a chance so you can understand why you're booing instead of just because we lost to a team tonight we should have actually lost to last season.

if you let the outcome of this game soley affect how you'll react next week, well then we've already lost

Did Evans play against the same defense Stone did?

We saw what Stone could do against what was essentially a prevent defense when he played in the 4th against Akron.

We heard what Evans could do against a prevent defense when he played in the 4th against USM.

They were pretty much the same, so fuck -- give the kid a chance and see what he does. Sure, he might be worse, but it's not like we had a Heisman candidate standing behind center at the beginning of this game anyway and it's not like having a winning season will solve any of our problems.

i listened to the game on the radio and so. miss didn't play prevent the entire 4th quarter, in actuality, the touchdown thrown by evans was when somiss was blitzing and he hit dunlap on the 2 yard line who fought his way into the endzone.

the announcers were clearly impressed with evans and they stated that it was the same defensive squad...evans' dad was in the booth and was being hard on him by saying "well remember they are playing prevent" and the other announcer said "i know you're being modest, but they didn't play prevent the entire time...evans just made some great plays..."

dude, at this point it doesnt fucking matter. put a clown in for all i care, this season is a wash and we suck terribly. You could have ronald mcdonald lead our offense and our Oline and especially our defensive side of the ball is such a terd that we just are relegated to SUCKAGE.

I heard it too and all he said was that on the TD play they weren't playing the prevent. End of the day, they were leading by 20 and knew that there was no way they were losing the game. You're not going to play your toughest defense at that point.

I'm not pulling a "Evans sucks, he proved nothing" type stance, because god knows I always thought Stone was a shitty quarterback, I'm just saying that so far he showed us about as much as Stone did in the 4th quarter of the Akron game. I think he definitely deserves a chance to start, because at the very least he doesn't seem to be any worse than Stone, and I think we've seen enough of Stone to know he's not the cure for our offensive woes.

i watched it on the live internet feed and evans looked great.

he was poised and calm in the pocket, hardly moving at all. he would sidestep if need be, but then regain a still position.. he also had a cannon of an arm..he could rocket it in there, or put a little finesse on it if need be.

overall, we looked shitty on defense.. fletcher was running ramshod all over us.
