yea Whites tree frogs (dumpy) are great. they get much bigger than darts but are pretty mellow and a good size for handling (not that you should handle em that much)
pacman frogs are cool. (green, albino, ornate). they get big and are carnivores but pretty easy to keep and you will wow you friends when you feed it baby mice. 9/18/2006 8:38:46 AM |

^ um, i doubt it. cheapest darts you'll come across are auratus which run around 20-25 from private breeders. and around 40-50 retail in stores and fish pros has never had darts to my knowledge.
I breed darts, but unfortunately all my froglets are either sold or on hold atm. I have tadpoles in the water but the froglets won't be big enough for me to comfortably sell for around 2 months or so. check my gallery to see some of my current collection although i only have mostly pictures of thumbnails and pumilio hosted. Best beginner frogs are generally D. auratus, D. leucomelas, and D. tinctorius. I currently have a breeding trio of D. leucomelas, and D. azureus as well as a few pairs of D. auratus that haven't quite started breeding yet.
I'm always willing to help people that are interested in getting started into darts, as a matter of fact i had someone over this weekend who is just getting started and I will be providing her with her first frogs once she gets her terrarium up and running (my last 2 azureus froglets atm). if you'd like to check out some frogs fell free to pm me and i can give you pointers or let you check out the array of frogs available in the hobby. but be wary, what starts out innocently enough can quickly drain your time and resources. I have a bunch of frogs that cost 20-25 a piece, but i also have many that run 150+ for each frog and the frogs are no bigger than 20mm 9/18/2006 5:53:00 PM |

if fish pros has any frogs they'll either be pac man, or fire bellied toads. i'm guessing you confused darts with FBTs, which are also great frog pets. especially for someone new at keeping amphibs.

Oooo. . .this thread is bad. I have an empty 20 gallon hex that I've been thinking about setting up with something and ever since laying my eyes on the dart frogs at the NC Aquarium several months ago, I've been having setting a terrarium up on the brain. 9/18/2006 6:48:12 PM |
