Now that it is clear that the Panthers aren't gonna contend for the SB, and it is looking unlikely that the Steelers are gonna repeat, you people might as well jump on the San Diego Chargers bandwagon.

I'm gonna go ahead and predict that the Chargers will win at least 12 games this year, and they could be superbowl contenders.

Here's why:

- They have one of the best defenses in the NFL. Their front 7 was phenomenal last year, but the secondary was the achilles heel. This year, with the addition of McCree and Cromartie and the maturation of Quintin Jammer, they look straight-up nasty. They are right up there with the Bears and Ravens on defense.

- LaDainian Tomlinson and Michael Turner make up the best 1-2 punch at RB in the NFL. If you haven't seen Turner play, you should check him out. He looks a lot like a young Jamal Lewis.

- Antonio Gates is still the best pass-catching tight end in football

- Rivers looks like he has been studying a lot of film over the last 2 years. He is playing like a veteran.

- Easy schedule

Their biggest weakness is on the o-line, which is inexperienced and thin. But it has looked very good so far against a couple of very bad teams.

I predict 13-3 and an appearance in the AFC championship game.

The Panthers don't have the schedule this year to start out slow. They are in a lot of trouble. But enough about them.

Take it from Peter King if you don't believe me. The Chargers are gonna be a force.

I think he read my post before writing this. Or maybe great minds just think alike:

Quote :
"San Diego might be ridiculously good. Chargers 67, Opposition 7. A few interesting things:

1. Now Shawne Merriman is imitating Ronnie Lott. He batted down one pass in the 40-7 rout of the Titans, and picked one off, too -- this after his three-sack day in the opener against Oakland.

2. San Diego's average time of possession after two games is a league-best 37:22, and it's not all LaDainian Tomlinson. Have you see much of this Michael Turner? He's averaging a league-high 7.6 yards per rush, with 175 yards in two games. That's better-than-Brandon Jacobs kind of depth.

3. Offensive efficiency. It's phenomenal. Zero turnovers. Zero sacks allowed. Efficient, accurate play by Philip Rivers. It's a shame they've got the bye in Week 3. Who wants to stop playing when you're hitting on all cylinders like this? We'll see how good they are after the week off, when they're at Baltimore, then home against Pittsburgh.

steelers aren't out of it after 1 loss, but i'll definitely be pulling for phil to continue to succeed.

until he plays pittsburgh of course. then i'll just hope he has a good game but falls short of victory.

can't argue there.

they didn't look good when they lost 3 in a row last year, either.

I'll be at the Chargers-Steelers game cheering my ass off. And this year the Chargers don't have Brees to choke the game away, so I am predicting a victory for the Bolts.

Tiki and Jacobs is nowhere near Tomlinson and Turner

neither of the Giants' RBs are as good as their counterparts on the Chargers

also, when the fuck have the Chargers been hyped? They came out of NOWHERE a few years ago to go 12-4 and since then have been expected to be a good team, but not great. I have never heard any excessive Chargers hype, the Raiders are the team in that division (except for this season) that is always expected to go to the playoffs and never does (minus the SB year, which didnt really happen). The Redskins are the consistently overhyped NFC team.

I have bought one before like it, same price (peppers). Comes with all sewn on stuff and Rebok tags.

If it's fake it is great quality anyway.

oh, and LT >> Tiki (no offense to Tiki I love the guy too, but LT is just ridiculous)

and Jacobs >> Turner

This just in, the jersey is real.

taken 5 min ago:

So unless someone actually took the effort to recreate all tags and NFL holograms, it is authentic. And if they did, props to them because it looks perfect.

They are authentic football jerseys.

They are meant to be worn with shoulder pads.

its fun to have interest in a team, and what better reason than their starting qb being your school's prodigal son.

The Chargers and Giants both have loaded backfields.

My personal opinion is that the Chargers backfield is more loaded.

Tiki is a great running back who runs behind a great offensive line, but Tomlinson is in a league of his own.

Michael Turner has been more impressive than Brandon Jacobs so far this season, albeit against weaker competition.

They were both sick in the preseason. We'll see how this year plays out.
