haha, oh, then what the hell is the big deal. If he never bet against the Reds, then its not like he was throwing games or anything. I always assumed he had bet against the Reds. Why the hell are people making this such a huge deal then. Seems like if he was betting on them, he would have been trying even harder for them to win.

plenty of people agree with the "whats the big deal" aspect, especially with more modern day player scandals involving performance enhancing drugs, etc

maybe if rose had played 20 years later with bigger salaries he either wouldnt have had as much financial need/want to bet...or hell maybe it wouldve been pushed to the backburner by the steroids controversy

If he came forward and said he gambled on baseball and was sorry this whole shit would have been done years ago and he'd be in the HoF already.. Instead he lied forever and kept it going. I don't feel bad for him.

And I won't feel bad for McGwire, Sosa, Palmeroid, etc when they don't get voted into the HOF either (hopefully). Rose should just fade into memory and give up his HOF desires. It won't happen until he is dead IMO.
