We'll be there this weekend, and I was looking for something to get into? Anyone have any suggestions?

Well we're going house shopping, so I was just trying to find nice places to dine, and maybe something to see.

I'm assuming Savannah GA. There is a resteraunt there called Lady and Son's that is Paula Dean's rest. Supposedly their food is awesome - if you've ever seen her cooking show or heard of her then you know she's a good ol' country style home cooking lady. But, get there early in the afternoon. they don't take reservations, but you get there early that afternoon to "reserve" your time that evening.

As far as partying and drinking...don't know...never been.

I have lived here in Savannah for about a year. If your looking to live outside the city I would suggest you live on one of the islands like Whitemarsh, Wilmington, and Tybee. I live on Whitemarsh and its very peaceful. Living downtown is nice but crime can be a problem sometimes. If I was going to live downtown I would suggest Ardsley Park.

As for dinning. If your looking for seafood Tubby's on Thunderbolt in great. The one on River St. also also good but does not have the local feel. Garibaldi's Cafe is a great resturant with a good variety of food. The Scored Flounder is AMAZING. 45Bistro has the BEST Filet in town and for Italian I would suggest Il Pasticcio or Costentios. Fire Flies is also a great resturant.

For breakfeast you can not beat Claries.

Great local resturant on Wilmington Island is Creekside Cafe. GREAT FOOD.

Plenty of bars on River St. Pick any of them and you'll have a good time but people do tend to get to drunk down there and get out of hand sometimes.

The Lady and Sons is wonderful - we go everytime I'm in Savannah, but make sure you get there early cause it fills up quick! Boar's Head on the river is great too - and I second Clarie's. Incredible

The Lady and Sons is ok but if you want the best "home cooking" in Savannah I suggest Mrs. Wilkes house. MUCH BETTER. Oh and stay away from Uncle Bubba's, Paula Deans brother's resturant. The seafood there is ok but everything is breaded to much and over cooked.

walking along the river is pretty fun. Especially if you get to see the street performers trying to put their way through art school.
