No matter what happens on Sat. against BC, show the dude some support for his first ACC game, it's enough for him to concentrate on the BC defenders and making clean passes....so BEFORE THE GAME, SHOW THE KID SOME LOVE!

GO PACK!!! (My prediction for the game: NCSU 17 BC 14 (Deraney kicking a game winning fg with time expiring!!)

my prediction: Evans will complete 90% of passes for 7 touchdowns and quickly become a dark horse heisman candidate. we win by 30 and are back in the acc title hunt. amato is quickly elevated to diety status and a golden statue of him will be built on the fifty yard line and players must navigate around it during play, as it will be permanently fixed to the field.

My Prediction: Evans blows shit up and leads on us on a 9-0 run in route to a bowl game.... however next year when Chuck is talking about "9 and 0 stuff" and won't play Burke, Evans starts off 0-3 and we got through this shit again

^no, we'll leave him in 4 quarters against App State or whatever 2A school is on the schedule to pad his stats for heisman and not develop the next QB so that when he leaves, we go through this shit again.

the whole team is just terrible

There's a lot of faggotry on TWW lately. Lets suck Evans off and lets clap and chant for Chris Wright and lets bake cookies and hang banners on the overpass for the 6'9" kid. Faggots.

yeah, for once i agree with you (almost).

The D-Line is nowhere near where it needs to be and with tank out for the BC game, it's gonna be bad. Linebackers are ok, I still want to see more from Reggie Davis, but Pat Lowery has really stepped up. Heath and Morgan are pretty good, and without AJ Davis, our secondary is spread too thin.

On offense, the QB is only one problem. The O-line blows. Leroy harris needs to learn how to snap the ball. Heppe must have epilepsy because he can't stay still on the line. Hopefully we get luke lathan back soon at center. With Blackman out, we lose a huge flex option.. the kid does everything, and does it well.

we're far from terrible, but we have enough talent to be at least mediocre. But poor coaching and too many turnovers currently make us terrible.

talent without execution and discipline translates into a big pile of jack shit

we have phenomenal backs, a wonderful kicker, solid receivers, and decent linebackers. yes there are holes in the O Line, but there are teams with far less talent in every facet of the game that will embarass us so long as they play as a team and we play like a highschool PE class

i get it, people love to blame the quaterback, but there are plenty of teams who have a QB that is worse than Stone (who actually isn't that bad of player, he just plays poorly-i shouldnt have to explain the difference) that can still do better than State

i mean sure, give Evans a shot, why not? but i can almost guarantee it won't make as big of an impact as making the team play as a whole.

there just isn't any leadership on the team that I can see. it's a bunch of spoiled brats that have been coddled by chuck into thinking they can get by on talent and talk alone. it's just not going to cut it anymore

^With the exception of our backs, our secondary is by far our strength....especially when we get A.J. back. Our linebackers are horrible (with the exception of Lowery). Marcus Stone has as many tackles through 3 games as Reggie Davis. I think it may be time to put an end to that experiment.

A good quarterback is a probably the most important thing to have in college football.

The reason a good quarterback will make a difference for us, especially, is because he have a bunch of talent on our offense, but talented wide receivers are useless if there's no one to throw the ball them, and talented running backs are useless if there's no threat of a passing game.

Could someone explain to me when, exactly, AJ Davis became this stellar cornerback? Because I've never really seen it in a game and my best guess as to how this whole rumor started is that he's marked as a special player in NCAA 07.

Please point out instances of when he's performed well in any games he's started.

^^ The only way a safety could happen in overtime is if the other team ran 75 yards backwards and we tackled them in the endzone.

Evans will get hurt, Stone will throw an INT in OT, the BC guy will get caught by AJ Davis (whom the officials didn't see come from the sidelines) and fumble it into the endzone, and finally Marcus Stone will fall on it for the safety.

I'll be cheering hard for DE

anyways... maybe marcus stone can play LB, allah knows we need it

I know what you mean, but it's pretty poorly stated. Clearly, playing poorly is being a poor player. You should say "who actually isn't that bad of a practicer".

I wonder if there is a section on TWW that we can troll without completely sidetracking good conversaton? That would be nice.

^^^ no doubt.. no reason not to get behind Evans. I'm looking forward to seeing him get his shot but I'm still not holding up too much hope we can pull this one out. I'll sure be watching though

I don't think this will be an issue. I get the feeling a lot of our drops have to do with not being used to actually receiving a catchable ball from Stone.

he was defensive player of the week nationally last year after the FSU game. while this doesn't mean all that much b/c anyone can catch lightning in a bottle for one week, it still shows he can play well.

scouts are talking like he will be a second or third round draft pick because he can play the run a little, has ELITE speed, and is pretty physical at the line of scrimmage w/ receivers.

most of the times he "got beat" last year that i can remember except for one we were in zone coverage and he got no help over the top, a la the bc game that one play last year. it just made it look like he got beat b/c he is so fast that he caught up w/ the play before the ball was caught.

he isn't the best corner in the country or anything, prob. not in the conference, but w/ his speed he will be valuable at the next level.

The thing I remember most about AJ last year is the string of facemasking penalties

because they always seemed to come on a 3rd and long and completely kill a defensive stop.

that did get a little ridiculous, but it did die down toward the end of the year

plus, nfl teams (esp. at corner) are just looking for speed on defense in the secondary and they figure they can teach them the technique that they want them to use when they get there

I dont think Daniel walked on....His brother walked on, but I think Daniel was offered a scholarship when we flopped the first time on Brent Schaeffer.

Thats the way his interview sounded....he was asked if he would have tried to walk on at NC State...and he said no.

IF ALL I HAD TO DO WAS MEET THE QB EXPECTATIONS ESTABLISHED BY DAVIS AND STONE I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS AND I CAN'T THROW THE BALL MORE THAN 5 YARDS DOWNFIELD.....THOSE GUYS ARE PATHETIC AND IF EVANS COULDN'T GET IN THE GAME OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS WHILE THESE GUYS WERE SUCKING IT UP THAN I DON'T EXPECT HIM TO DO ANY BETTER....

I agree with most of this thread

- Evans should get a chance

- If he sucks, then his chance is over

that pretty much sums it up for me

odds are pretty bad we will get one who is good fast enough to stay ahead of the calls for his head... especially with our coaching staff sucking so bad, that doesnt help develop the qb very much

I have been here 5 yrs now ... seen the greatest qb in acc history throw all over fools like akron ... seen defenses that would eat teams alive ... but now i dont see any of that, and it sucks.

Yeah, Evans should start, and if he sucks we need to compare his level of suckness to that of Stone hands and dead wood Davis. Then decide to howl the first BOOO or not. No matter who we put in as qb BC is gonna throw all over our corners. Their quaterback is nasty and will make it short trips to the field for our D.

Prediction : 38 - 13 And Ill be there the whole game
