those schedules assume no credits upon coming into the university (which is pretty unlikely for the more difficult majors these days) AND no summer school. 9/21/2006 3:55:37 PM |

Well, that ChemE list is just wrong for me- I didn't take any of those classes first semester. I started in Cal III and Organic I. I was also in PY 208 then, too. 9/21/2006 4:00:33 PM |

i like being a bio major. i met a lady at a CALS career fair that works for the pathology assistant's program at duke, and it's a 2 year grad program and you're guaranteed a job at duke when you graduate starting at $70k/year. Not bad to sit in a lab and cut up tumors all day. I met the vice-dean at duke's medical school, joe corless, at my work and he gave me his business card and we're trying to set up some sort of internship thing for me this summer...i'm not sure if i still want to be an infectious diseases doctor, because i'm getting interested in research, and i'm really interested in the CDC.
why are all the engineering majors i've met pretty much pompous and think everything that's not engineering is inferior? 9/21/2006 9:31:53 PM |

its not that everything not engineering is inferrior . . . it is just certain things that are inferior. Like when a business major is complaining about having sooooo much work to do and things being soooooo difficult. There are plenty of other degrees that are difficult.
Hell, a lot of "engineers" think like this about other people in the college of engineering . . . especially the CSC people.9/24/2006 11:31:01 PM |

^ Anybody with 2% of a brain can respect/appreciate the value and diversity of different majors and the benefit they provide. Anybody that trash talks tends to fall in the "ignorant" group. Remarks such as yours tend to fall into that group. I can make broad, generalized, and unsupported statements just as easily as you can. However, I don't, because I have 2% of a brain.
Maybe I'm missing something, but are you upset with the degree you got ... or the opportunities you didn't choose to pursue as an undergraduate? What's the real story here?
