Im working on the second one and havent been able to figure it out. Are we suppose to find the size of the two welds? that doesnt make any sense because we could just make them huge and it would hold, anybody want to help me out?

I've got the second one too. All I have to say is the forces are pretty damn small.

I'm working on the second one also... I think he just wants us to figure out how to deal with the out-of-plane force, which isn't really that tricky just annoying. If I remember correctly he said he was more interested in the way we go about solving the problem and the report format rather than if we get the answer right.
