my integra passed on to a better place, so i got a 1996 spyder gt to fill the gaping hole in my heart. that shit's actually pretty fun to drive, and i got a hell of a deal on it. anyways, it has shitty audio everything now, so i'm going to circuit city tonight to get door and rear panel speakers, and also a head unit (i have muchos coupons and gift cards and the like, that's why i'm going to circuit city, otherwise i'd get it cheaper elsewhere). if you had to pick one of the cd players (all i need is aux input and cd/rw/mp3/wma compatible), and speakers, what would you pick? i have no room for my sub and all that other shit in a car this tiny so i need to make the speakers count.

PM sent.
Avoid the local stores if you're in a rush as everything *coupons included* can be had for cheaper online. 9/26/2006 4:51:08 PM |

Sony makes relatively cheap head units with an aux input. Most of the other brands that I looked at were either much more expensive or required some sort of aux interface kit to be purchased optionally. 9/26/2006 5:07:02 PM |

It is simple. Buy the best Head unit money will allow. Then buy a 2 or 4 channel amp (the best money will allow). Amp the front two speakers, or all four. Then buy the best speakers money will allow. Or, some combination of the above.
Head Unit Eclipse Advanced Function CD/MP3 In-Dash Player (CD4000) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Eclipse-Advanced-Function-CD- MP3-In-Dash-Player-CD4000/sem/rpsm/oid/145106/catOid/-13089/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Amp Eclipse Class AB 4-Channel Amp (EA4000) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Eclipse-Class-AB-4-Channel- Amp-EA4000/sem/rpsm/oid/145653/catOid/-13095/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do or Kicker 2-Channel Amplifier (ZX350.2) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicker-2-Channel-Amplifier -ZX350-2/sem/rpsm/oid/156016/catOid/-13095/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Speakers Front:Kicker 6 1/2" Component Speakers (RS65.2) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicker-6-1-2-Component- Speakers-RS65-2/sem/rpsm/oid/118302/catOid/-13092/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do Rear:Eclipse 6-1/2" 3-Way Coaxial Speaker (SE8365) http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Eclipse-6-1-2-3-Way- Coaxial-Speaker-SE8365/sem/rpsm/oid/146006/catOid/-13092/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Plus harnesses, adaptors, and wiring/ power and you have yourself a decent setup. Then buy another amp and a 12'' sub and you will be good to go.

do any car head units use the tripath audio chipset? granted the company will be bankrupt in the next year but they make a quality class d-ish low wattage amplifier for very cheap. 9/26/2006 8:51:52 PM |

i would recommend buying your shit from http://www.crutchfield.com. they have excellent service, free shipping (on orders over $200), and give free installation kits. then you could pay somebody from the garage to install your shit for pretty cheap if you can't do it yourself. 9/26/2006 8:53:02 PM |

if you put a 400$ amp with 400$ speakers in a car youve lost your entire fucking mind

did nobody read my initial post? haha. i am NOT ordering it online, i won't have to pay anything if i get it from circuit shitty. there is nothing else there that i want.
sony makes total shit... i decided to go ahead and put my old amp and sub in, along with pioneer speakers in the rear panels, leave the front ones alone, and a pioneer head unit. fuck trunkspace, i care more about music. 9/27/2006 4:31:24 PM |

you shoudla waited till i was workin. seems liek who ever ur talkin to sold u the cheap way out. if anythin u should have upgraded the front speakers those make the big difference the rears are for rear fill. pioneers are ok fro the money but u shoulda just got a decent pair of fronts like the kickers or polks. you should get 25% off the speakers since u got a hu . come to the cary store when i'm wokrin i'll get u right 9/27/2006 6:49:31 PM |
