so now it is all general admission and your section is determined by when you get to the stadium.

im surprised no one has posted this yet

you just print out another set of tickets with the actual seats, and hand them out when people go through the gates.

well i believe they give the first 2600 students in section 7 or 8. then there's a set number they give for the SEZ sections, then the NEZ sections, followed at the end with sections 14 and 15. they want to get people in there early, but there's a loophole that you all are forgetting about. go in get your sec. 7 hand stamp, then get a pass out to do more tailgating. it's really not that hard people.

Ya, but if you account for waiting to get in & walking from (& back to) the student parking lot, you'd waste upwards of 45min to an hour, just to do that. Is giving up that much tailgatting time worth that hassle?

you could leave tailgating at a very reasonable time to get yoru stamp and then go back and bong the hell out of it

that's why you bring like 2 beers with you and down them on the way over to the gate. get your pass out, then hurry back over the tailgate area. do you have to enter through the student entrance if you have a pass out?

So what happens if I'm comin in with a group of my friends who all want to sit together, and half of us get one section, then they hit the cutoff and the other half gets another section?

I can almost guarantee this will happen and people are gonna be pissed as shit.

Fucking faggot, burn in hell Stafford.

you're right, it's possible that could happen

but if your group is fewer than 20 people, they will let you all get the same stamp...the people who run the system suggested that, so I believe they will follow it

^ The splitting up of groups (via the unfortunate scenario you mentioned) or either half wanna go early, half hang out long, is the worst byproduct of this system.

I wanna sit w/ my friends regardless of whether or not they wanna join me to watch warmups. That's not happening now.

I know, and I brought that up yesterday...
and you're right, it is a byproduct that I believe is the worst out of all of them...

truth be known, about 20 minutes before kickoff for this FSU game they will prob still be on SEZ seats, moving over toward NEZ seats...because of class and other stuff

FSU really won't be a clear indication of how well/bad this will work, because of the classes during the day...we really won't know enough until the wake game

The old system with non-students handing out the tickets seems to be the best and most obvious answer here....

wtf is the point of blocks so that you sit with people now? you must all enter the stadium at the same time and it must not be near the end of a section being closed off?

please be advised - no washing of your hands or you won't be allowed back into any section - now if you go to the restroom - just leave the game

this is very well thought out - the people making the rules should try using the system

actually, all of the students who participated do use the system

and the ink is used in the gym, and is tested over an over...you won't be able to wash it off just by washing your hands...
and if you tamper with it, that's your fault...but you are literally going to have to scrub to get it off, and it won't come off by sweating or just as simple washing your hands with soap

the line is backed up enough with just scanning tickets - now they are going to scan and stamp - are they adding additional people to do this? how much more does this cost (the change to the online system/stamps/ink/etc)

What time do the gates open?

I think this system is going to backfire. If people get there when the gates open, get their hand stamped then go tailgate and come back...are they going to use a counter to keep up with how many have been stamped from each section?

^^they are reshuffling peopel to this gate...and the scanning has not been what backs up the lines yet for the past 3 games...the bag checks are what back up lines

and yeah, you'll get your ticket scanned and a person standing directly beside that person will stamp your hand as you walk past...

gates open like aways 1.5 hours before kickoff (so 6pm for FSU game)

and money wise there is no additional expense because they are just moving resources around...

So we can get stamped, go back and tailgate, then go back through the same gate and just by pass everyone since we've been stamped?

basically...they are working with event oen right now to finalize plans for passout prior to kickoff...because if that is allowed (as I support) then you will be able to enter any gate when you come back and have a stamp already on your hand

Do you get to pick what section you can get your stamp in?

I don't want to be stuck in 112 when 15 is open.

good god this system is the worst thing that has ever happened to the student ticketing system. it has been NOTHING but a string of horrible, horrible failures.

go back to waiting in line for printed tickets. first come, first serve.

well the game is a week away - can we get a picture of the stamps so we can just order them - assuming you just need a stamp to enter any gate?

the stamps will be unique for each game...and a different random color each time...so no, they haven't been designed/ordered/made yet, and they won't be something easy to copy

and as far as being able to come into any gate w/ the stamp...that hasn't been accepted as a plan yet, and you would still need a passout for that game anyway...

How about you have people doing the stamping at the section entrances??

If you do this, then students can choose which section they want to sit in... so that in this case, those who make it a priority to sit with all their friends, can choose the crappy seats if all 100 of their friends dont want to come early... and those who are their to actually watch the game and be their early can choose the better sections. This way, everyone gets to make the choice of what is more important to them, and cant complain like they seem to always find a way to do.

All in all, I like this ichange, but there are lots of ways you can tweek it to make it the best for the most people

stamps are easy to copy - there is no way that the event one staff is going to be checking the detail of the stamp - all you really need is the correct color and a rudimentary design

I think this sucks.... I mean Block seating is really useless in this case. Why couldnt they have it where you still use the same online system to register for tickets....... then the students who win go back to Reynolds and pick up a real ticket (with Hologram) and a parking pass all at the same time. Then you get rid of having people print extra tickets for each other.... and at the same time people who like to keep ticket stubs as souveniers can have that back.

Is the current system all that bad anyway? It's just section 7 and 8 that everyone try to sneak and make fake/copied tickets for. Why don't they just monitor these sections more carefully. I don't see why they just don't put ticket scanners at these two sections to help limit copied and fake tickets tickets and then monitor the number of students in these sections. If the number gets to large then re-routing seems to work fine. The only reason there seems to be a problem is that the event staff wouldn't let someone leave the section and then return which I can't understand. Another option that would control the number of students in the section is to stamp the ones that come through the gate with a ticket for these sections. So if you are awarded a ticket for either 7 or 8 in the lottery you are stamped when entering through the gate. Then the event staff at these sections will only allows students in these sections with the correct stamp. This eliminates the first-come-first-serve mayhem and still keeps groups together with no problem. It just doesn't seem right to completely change how tickets are handled so no one has a gauranteed seat in a particular section and groups may be broken up just because someone took a piss in the stands during the game.

Either way, I don't think they should try anything drastically new for the FSU game, I have memories of the VaTech game and I don't think any other game has had sections that crowded.

^^^you're right...so when people start doing that then you can blame the students again....no system stops people from copying tickets (people used to copy the printed tickets from athletics somehow)

^you would still screw over people because of the students who photoshop their tickets...that solution would actually slow down the lines...nothing about putting a stamp on a hand will clog the lines, since right now the bottleneck is the bag checks.

it was discussed allowing people to find a section and get a stamp at the entrance to the section...security said no because it would cause too many people to be walking around the concourse trying to find a section still available...

what do think about having separate gates for each section? like...you got to 10A for sec 7, 10B if you want section 8....gate 10 for SEZ, first half of gate 11 for NEZ and last section for 14/15...

and we'd just close the gate/lines for the gates that have given out the number of stamps allowed....what do you think about that?

i know you don't think that the number of copied tickets when they were printed up is anywhere near the number of tickets that are copied now...

just do the vouchers online - print up the tickets - game over
