I somehow messed up one of the default settings on my MacBookPro to where I try to open up something that I downloaded on to my desktop, which happens to be a poker program, it tries to open it with microsoft word. It's pissing me off. I've tried every single one of the recommended applications to open it with and none of them work. I hate my Mac.

what exactly is the problem.....
it sounds like you downloaded a windows only program and are complaining that it won't run. Is it a .app?
is it just this one program, or everything you try to open?

You can use bootcamp and install Windows, or find an equivalent Mac program.
