This is a spin off of the RBC thread b/c obviously some of the people in there do not own and have never purchased a home so they are talking out of their a$$es. So sign in with Own or Rent.

Own for me.

Sometimes I feel like my home owns me.
Like yesterday when I busted ass all day doing yardwork, putting up gutters, and cutting down a tree.

That was me. They turned out really well. The gutters from Home Depot snap together really easily and installation was a breeze.

I was able to get away with a lot because I was just working on the back side of a 10x14 garden shed as opposed to working on the house itself. I eyeballed everything and put in about a 1.25" drop over 14.5' of gutter. I put in the gutter guards as well and everything looks good.

wow, sober, your rowhouse is nice. i LOVE the stone.

and that's what i hope to own one day, maybe. i'm pretty sure i'm going to end up in a larger city for my career, etc, so it'd be nice to one day have the money to own something like a rowhouse (or nice condo/apt/etc).

and pwrsrtkd, nice job on the land/building your own home. that's something cool as well, designing and building your own home.

Ahaha I know what you mean Sylvershadow. Homeownership ain't cheap. Just went to Lowe's this weekend and dropped about 250 on lighting, paint, and some other stuff to get the house squared away for my wifes open house on Tuesday and just fix some shoddy stuff.

Own lots of farm land. Owned 1/3 of the house I grew up in, but sold out to my brother last year when my car crapped out and I needed a new one.

Rent an apartment right now. Looking to own a home soon.

The hubbie and I have right at $15,000 saved for a down payment and we have an extremely agressive savings and investment plan, so that we can purchase a house in another year.
