My 99 crown vic has a problem with the hvac, I have plenty of everything but the H. The air blows cold, the compressor kicks on and off when switched, the position selector switch works fine and the change from floor to mix to defrost is very quick. The probelm is I dont have any heat. I did hear a loud whump sound from the dash once or twice when it was started with the ac on, or when switching i t on. I would like to get my heat fixed without taking it to a dealer and getting assraped on the price. Anyone know a good AC shop?

also, a friend at work has a 99 tarus v 6 that needs a new brake booster installed, Where would be a good place to take a problem like this?
