I wanted to get some opinions. I am looking to get a tool box for my truck, just to throw some jumper cables, tools etc. in, and I wanted to know what type/color you think I should go with according to my truck and it's color. Should I go with low profile or regular, and then should I go with the black diamond plate or chrome diamond plate? Thanks!

I was really thinking black... there is a guy on here with one for sale but it isn't low profile. The regular profile looks great on the Toyota's because the rear glass is raised from the bed about 4 inches, however, I was still debating the low/regular profile.

My favorite color box is pink. Though most regular stores don't carry them.

ever consider the in-bed style? I'm a fan of those, but i suppose it depends on how much stuff you are going to put in it. as for the color, something dark

As for the in bed style, I haven't thought of that. I wouldn't mind it, and I'm sure it takes up the same amount of space when compared to over the rails. Do most tool boxes require you to drill holes through the side of the bed in order to mount them?

no, they use hooks, at least mine does.

and I don't like the in bed style, b/c if you have to haul a 4x8 sheet of plywood, or any long lumber, you cant put the end under the box and you end up w/ most of the load hanging over the tailgate

dixie flag - i mean it's already redneck enough, but that would really push it over the top

Black, low profile, as already said.

Not a bad looking Ranger, all in all.

ur bed is going to be pretty useless kinda like this..

why dont you just go buy an ford explorer, plenty more space for hauling around jumper cables...

or you could just put the jumper cables behind ur seat. i mean shit i gotta std cab and i have plenty of room.

also if that bike in ur profile is urs. how are u going to tow it around. fuck takin the tool box out every time.

I am gonna digress here. Chrome or polished aluminum diamond plate. I think that the chrome bumpers, the grille, and the alloys already have a theme here...and you need to continue that theme with the box.

Black diamond plate.....then line-x the inside of it so the aluminum oxide doesnt cover everything in it. I had my fullsize truck box sprayed for $75. Worth every penny and it turned out great.

^^ you might as well get fake locks bc there are like 2 or 3 street legal manufactured bead locks if i'm not mistaken.
