Pause for all the jokes about how they'd never be on anyway because they suck.......

....but I read this on Wikipedia, so its accuracy is unknown.

Quote :
"except for the Houston Texans, whom have yet to play a Monday Night game, though the owner (Bob McNair) has a special contract with the NFL which is a no-monday night clause, which hinders the Texans to have a Monday Night schedule, until the clause can be cancelled that Texans can't play a Monday Night game."

Could this be some kind of expansion penalty? I don't know why he wouldn't want his team to be on MNF. The whole country sees you and fans love night games.

Anybody know whats really going on?

Houston played on MNF in the 2002 preseason, so why would such a policy apply to the reg. season & not the preseason?

no one watches preseason

and no one cares if you suck during preseason

uh you are discussing a blurb inserted into an almost-deleted wikipedia article by a guy whose user history is full of reversions and warnings about vandalism and whose proofreading skills leave much to be desired

also google brings up no hits regarding "bob mcnair" "monday night"
