Someone familiar with Congressional Procedures, please help me out here.

I wrote my representative and my senators and told them that if they voted to ban online poker, I would never vote for them again. I would like to find out which of them (I know its all, sadly) voted for it.

However, I don't know how to find that information.

It got tacked on to the Safe Port Act (H.R.4954) as Subchapter IV at the last minute. How do I find out who voted for and agaisnt it? Also, is there a way for me to find who voted against it being tacked on to the Safe Port Act? Thanks a lot,

but that assumes there was a rollcall vote taken. it's probable that someone requested one, but not always.

you're going to be looking for the roll call vote on the conference report.

looks like there are only 2 reps you can ever vote for again evar!!!111

that's the vote on the conference report, not the amendment to include the internet gambling bill...but i doubt you'll find many reps who are against it

well you can't really blame them for voting FOR port security...

what would be more rational is to try to find out if your rep voted for the current leadership, because they are the ones who pushed the initiative to attach all these socially conservative bills into defense and homeland security christmas tree bills. that would be a better metric of "earning" your vote.

Yeah. I really have a problem with this kind of sneaky maneuver in the first place. You shouldn't be able to attach a completely unrelated bill as a subchapter of a bill.

I mean, sure I wanted port security (depending on the definition) but I hate that they can put in extra bills when they don't want to go out of a limb.

I'll be writing more letters to them telling them they have to change this. They won't listen, but I'll do it anyhow.
