I have always been buying the same tire that came on my car. Dunlop SP 9000. Size: 215/45ZR17 But on tirerack.com they are 177.00 before shipping. I need to buy 2 new tires, but was wondering if there is something better/cheaper on the market. I have read several opinions on tirerack, but was wondering what you guys think. Also, these will go on my rear tires and the car is rear wheel drive.

Wouldn't you want to put new tires on the front and rotate the front ones on the back? Or do you have staggered rims?

you gotta remember your rear tires will wear out faster.

IMO, i would just find the least expensive 17 inch tire and throw them all the way around.

Generally, I would agree with you guys, but I had a flat not too long ago. I had a full size spare in the trunk that had never been used. I bought one new (matching) tire, had it put on along with my spare (so I had two new tires on the car and two 1/2 tread) and I put the old tire (about 1/2 tread left) as the spare. Its time to change two tires. I do rotate them, but instead of buying 4 at a time I have been getting 2.
