If we beat Wake Forest and then Maryland on the road, we might be depending on how teams 16-25 do (ie, someone needs to lose for us to make it regardless).

If we beat Wake and Maryland, MAYBE, then if we win at UVA, a strong maybe. We might be at 26 or 27. Also, there are still alot of Undefeateds left. We need alot of the lower ranking ones to lose. Even if we win the next few games in a row, there's no way we're going to jump a 7-0 team from a low conference, b/c of our two losses.

uva blows they wont help us get ranked. The ONLY way UVA helps us is because all the other 16-25 teams and any others close to being ranked lost in the weeks coming up to and during UVA

We need to beat Wake, MD, and UVA to be ranked.

If you were a longtime State you would not want us to be ranked remembering our past.

^We haven't lost to a D-1AA team nor will we. Why make such comment. ECU is up this year.

exactly... put this in perspective... out of 119 teams after we lost to Akron and Southern Miss... we are certainly a different team with Evans, but haven't proven ourselves as a top 25 team yet...

however, we are currently ranked 33, so we could get ranked if we beat Wake depending on how ranked teams above us do this weekend...

I look at it this way.

The BC game can be chalked up to homefield advantage and a timely clutch pass/catch. The FSU game also had homefield advanatge and the fact that FSU has played OK.... at best.... so it can be construed that FSU is worse than expected (as opposed to us being better than expected).

Then there's the fact that our defense let the ZIPS drive 70 yards in a minute and a half AT HOME with the game on the line. This is the same D that also forced ZERO punts against mighty Southern Miss. Granted the offense wasn't doing squat in those games, but you see my point.

Since Wake was so close to getting ranked last week, a win against them might do the job. I certainly hope it doesn't (see the hongry comment), but it could. Right now I ant the Pack focused on one goal - beating the living shit out of the next team on the schedule.


IMO we're not going to know what the Pack's really made of until GT rolls in on 11/4. Every game until then is a must-win in terms of gaining respect, period.

With a QB that can actually move the ball down the field, we are a much much better team defensively and offensively. We can actually give our defense decent field position now instead of starting around mid-field every time.
