http://www.cnn.com/2006/AUTOS/10/10/bc.autos.ford.recall.reut/index.html

This is what the 20th recall this year on their vehicles? It's not always the design that's bad but the parts that use. My roommates ford focus has had a total of 23 recalls issued on it since he's owned it.

This part, that part... jesus christ how does Ford stay in business? OH WAIT! that's right it's not.

Isn't it common knowledge that Ford makes shit as far as quality and reliability is concerned.

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that all of the Big 3 have their problems. It's a game of give and take. Seems to be more of a year/model issue with each manufacturer, as opposed to EVERYthing they produce is shit.

And Toyota and Nissan don't really have anything in the heavy-duty diesel line, so I guess some of us are a little bit bound to them in that regard.

Oh, and I've got a Ford diesel 4x4 for sale. Never had any problems with it.

Your friend bought the cheapest vehicle Ford makes and you're surprised it turned out to be a piece of shit? Just be glad this is 2006 and he got a Focus. Had he made this mistake in the past he would have ended up with a damn Festiva or Aspire. Then he'd really be fucked.

even if you buy an expensive ford you'll be in the same boat. (and in my opinion, all fords are way too expensive for what you get, they should all be given away for free to be used in destruction derbies)

Hey, they have come a long way from the Pinto where they weighed the odds of profit vs. loss of human life and law suits

I bought an '04 F-150 new some time ago. Even being brand new I took it in for at least 3 warranty repairs in the year and still had issues. I have since traded it on a (much more reliable) import. The truck is still going into the shop with the new owners (Ford still sends me warranty repair notices.)

After having driven Ford's for most of my driving life I can say that I am done with them at this point. I think the only conceivable Ford I would ever consider would be a PowerStroke F-250. Other than that, never again.

GM and Ford are both going under for stupid bullshit like this. They spend too much time making everybody do shit tons of paperwork instead of letting the engineers that actually have a clue just fix what the hell is wrong. The fuckers have known about a fuel gauge sending and oil pressure sending unit issue on the vettes since '97 and still haven't fixed it or even admitted anything was wrong...and still put the same bullshit fuel gauge sending unit on the new corvettes. They don't seem to understand that atleast in the corvette scenario, people will be willing to pay a little more for something that has less problems and they need to quit trying to cut so many god damn corners by using old hardware to save money.
