He was jealous that David was stealing his perfect woman (Sofia) so he incited Julia. The next day Julia goes apeshit and tricks David into her car, and then drives the car into a wall. The accident killed Julia and physically crippled David.

This is jealously. David was a rich and selfish prick, but he never betrayed anyone.

Brian was jealous and betrayed the one guy who would hear him out when no one else would.

Brian was always selfish. Take the first scene where he wants to live David's life.

And his Memorial was great. He is a good man but it's just damn hard to judge based on what we see.

meh, he got drunk and ran his mouth in front of a girl that he wanted to sleep with. she called him on it and he said that he was just quoting david. at the end of the movie they show that brian cared about david more than the other people in his life.

I've always thought this movie was fucking amazing. You need to see the original though.

So, have you heard about the NY Car inspection sticker on the '68 Mustang? Suppossidly the date is 2/30/02, which doesn't exist... therefore, the whole thing was a dream...

Also, if you check the theatrical trailer, there's a few scenes that never made it to the movie. There's a scene similar to the orignal where the LE building is stormed by armed guards... but i can see why they went the direction they did.

There's also another scene with Sophia on her bed in a wedding dress.

I saw an episode of Scrubs where they had a dream sequence and totally lifted the car wreck from the beginning of Vanilla Sky. Maybe both are owned by the same studio...

I remember watching this movie inthe theater. There was a kid watching it with his parents, then Cameron Diaz busts out with "Geez David, I swallowed your cum for God's sake!!!" Needless to say the kid couldn't make eye contact with his parents for the rest of the movie.
