what the fuck are you talking about, jason? who said anything about an anti-nc conspiracy? first of all, blocked punts/fg are pretty rare in the nfl. there's maybe 15 in the entire season, if that. another example, in the clip the commentators note that the oakland punter has had just 3 punts blocked (including manny's) in well over 600 punt attempts. secondly, imo, it is absolutely worthy of a mention in a highlight reels; regardless of what teams are playing. if anything, the media could've used it as another tool to bash mario williams by pointing out manny's stats (as they've done before).

i just looked at that again, and realized just how much the raiders suck. the 49ers rushed just 5 guys. 5!... and they blocked a punt. that's crazy, man. craaaaazy. that might be why it was never mentioned - to save the raiders from further embarassment.

i heard the SF chronicle 49ers writer on the local sports radio (i've been living in the bay area for the past couple of months) earlier this week

he was raving about manny -- said he was really smart and that on the blocked punt he had seen something in the protection and went to the special teams coach to make an adjustment in his approach -- then voila, a blocked punt

of course it was against the raiders, but i think the 49ers aren't quite as terrible as being claimed in this thread -- they're young and seem to be on the rise at least

there's a good interview with manny to the right of this article, he talks about playing against philly cheese tomorrow...
