ok, so my advisor said i register tomorrow, and i should have known to check him ahead of time because he's kind of an airhead...
so i go here http://www.ncsu.edu/registrar/calendars/registrationsprg.html and it says that tomorrow only DR, DV, GR, MR, PR, 05 register, whatever that means... and that seniors with 111+ dont register til thursday
it wouldnt matter except that i have to wake up right when registration opens because i'm graduating in the spring and absolutely have to get into a certain class... and i'm worried i'm gonna wake up early for nothing
so does anyone know what DR, DV, GR, MR, PR, 05 means???? 10/16/2006 7:56:56 PM |

Basically, if you are a grad student, vet school student, in an honors program and/or an athlete, you can register tomorrow 10/16/2006 8:16:55 PM |

No, the scholars program does not count. You probably shouldn't worry anyway. There are so few people with 111+ hours that on Thursday the system will be empty and nobody will be signed up for any classes. I highly doubt you'll have any trouble getting the class you need. I'm not worried about any of mine. 10/16/2006 9:32:46 PM |

well, i still am somewhat worried. the class i'm trying to get into is only offered every other year, and there are only 13 seats available. it is notorious for being very hard to get into... hence my worry.
so why the hell did my advisor say i can register tomorrow... 10/16/2006 9:36:13 PM |

No worries here about not getting into classes; no one wants to take upper level CHE and CH courses. 10/16/2006 10:10:56 PM |

if you're that worried . . . get up early and try it. What's the worst that can happen? You can't register then and you go back to bed.
Getting up "early" isn't that big of a deal. 10/17/2006 10:44:09 AM |

I thought honors students got to register a day early. Maybe your advisor confused you for honors student and that's why you were told you could register tomorrow. I register on Thursday and I'm not worried about getting into any of the sections. You should be fine getting into whatever you need to get in to. 10/18/2006 12:22:28 AM |

too much of a good thing ...

^Oh yeah, I know all about that - but I'm finishing up two degrees, so the 110% rule kicks in and prevents me from having to pay it. 10/18/2006 8:42:23 PM |

it actually is an old designation that we don't really use anymore but has never been taken off the list just in case.
it used to stand for things like advanced certificates in engineering, accounting, etc.
it was beyond a 4 yr degree, but not quite a master's degree. 10/19/2006 7:46:38 AM |
