as soon as boomer announced the next topic (comparing the '85 bears and '06 bears), i knew that irvin and ditka were going to have words. they bawk at one another during every show, and you can tell they're not exactly the best of friends. therefore, it really didn't surpise me when ditka interjected as irvin was talking. it did suprise me that ditka did it from back at the studio and the manner in which he interrupted. boomer, young, irvin, and tj were all visibly taken aback by what ditka did. boomer tried to defuse the situation by saying something like, "we're all kidding here" and ditka was like, "i'm not". then, boomer said, "ummm..." and irvin tried to make amends by apologizing and reiterating that he was kidding.
