As I sit here and watch the Virginia v Carolina football game, I notice something. It shocked me, because it's constantly yet easily overlooked in this sport. That something is classy sportsmanship demonstrated by both teams. One fine young man from carolina tackled another young classy man from virginia, and then proceeded to assist him getting off the ground. And vice versa.

That meant so much to me. Here I am, the biggest proudest state fan on this forum, but if I had one bad criticism about our team it would be this aspect. I don't see much of this displayed by our team. All I see is taunting, hooping and hollering resulting in penalties (sometimes). Gee wiz, I really wish that our guys would do this more often. Become fine, handsom football players, because after all character is important. Especially being in the wake of all the recent brawls.

^^^^I agree with you there. Most of the florida players are reputable for "bad attitudes" that's why the teams are more penalyzed for unsportsmanlike conduct. I think most of the coaches encourage agression, so advertanly this happens. Most of our players are from florida so it happens.

But the best players demonstrate class on every level. So important.

Nothing wrong with being classy, but fuck helping a guy up that I just layed out. I'm not wasting my valuable strength and energy, that I'll need later in the game, to help the opposition up off the ground. That little bit of energy and strength that I used each time to help a 200+ lbs. guy up could possibly be the difference between me making a game saving touchdown or not.
