Could just use one like this, and ignore the other aspects. I've taken the simple kind you are looking for before. I remember the graphic had a lot of blue. But I can't remember much more about it than that.

I think all the questions are fairly even-handed, but I'm having trouble with this one:

On one hand I used "illegal immigrants" instead of a softer term like "migrant workers" or something like that. On the other hand, it's not like conservatives are entirely unsympathetic to their plight.

I'm more sympathetic to illegals than any person on the left that I know. That's because democrats are concerned that they'll take jobs from lazy American union workers.

I like the immigrants, because they work hard and haven't gotten accustomed to handouts.

I personally have been trying to find a better way to define myself politically lately as well. Maybe you people can help some?

-i support as much of a reduction in taxes as possible as long as we can still fund the necessary programs. cut subsidies to businesses, arts, broadcasting, etc. we can still get the same viewpoints/benefits from self-supporting sources, and im confident things like npr could survive on their own, just like any news channel. in a perfect world, all taxes would be consumption-based. how possible this is, i am not sure. i support, however, keeping in place social safety nets, which should be temporary and encourage one to support themselves ("workfare"). Social security is good and all, but it probably won't last at current rates thanks to the boomers. Government should cooperate with the private sector to solve this.

-We should protect the environment through regulation, protection of what i would consider sacred lands, but encourage market solutions to issues such as global warming (tax breaks to "green energy" groups). Protection of the environment should be a collaborative effort by both private and public sectors. Government intervenes to protect national parks, while the private sector, through tax cuts for cleaner policies and government-industry collaborative goals, solves issues dealing w/ emissions through market and government cooperation.

-unions have a right to exist, but the open-shop, right-to-work should be respected and legal. government should not regulate such groups, either. reducing taxes on businesses (such as property taxes) should help them be able to provide and stay afloat.

-the private sector best handles health care, but such care should be required to be provided by businesses that can afford it. cut taxes to small businesses for the purpose of providing such. those who are truly disadvantaged will have emergency coverage assured.

-abortion should be legal (i wont go into the morality/spiritual side to my beliefs on that, but i have debated this morally quite a bit with myself). gay union/marriage/whatever should be legal (possibly up to the states, though im not sure about that one). pot should be legal, but not hard drugs. high consumption taxes on such drugs, and cigarettes, should be used to help discourage smoking. i wont go into silly issues such as school prayer, but all religions should be tolerated, not banned outright (not that that has happened, it hasnt).

-not sure where i stand on education, but something needs to be done about it.

-personally, i believe that those raising children have societal standards to live up to. welfare has encouraged many to neglect those standards. welfare should be temporary, very much so. unfortunately, most people are too stupid to know what's best for them. c'es la vie, i guess.

-international cooperation and collaboration b/w public and private entities. the UN could do some good if they had better, stronger leadership.

So yeah, help me out here people. I'm tired of these political quizzes giving me new answers every time. The only politician i know of that i really legitimately like is Bloomberg, the Mayor of NYC. Maybe Bob Ethridge, my local congressman, though the fact that his opponent supports the consumption based tax system is commendable, imo.
