Welcome to the official 'Good Eats' thread. Feel free to discuss Alton Brown, past episodes, and new episodes, or anything related to Good Eats.

My favorite episode is the cheesecake episode. The recipie from that show makes a really good cheesecake!

What's your favorite episode?

I watched a couple episodes last night. Awesome show. I have one of his books too.

My favorite episode? I dunno. I really like the "waffler" episode.

^ I've been getting into the Bobby Flay show, Throwdown.. Typically I don't like those "competition" food shows but this one is pretty good. And I like some of Bobby Flays other shows.

have you tried the fried chicken recipe? we tried it the other night, and I am not sure 1/8 of an inch of oil is enough, took a long time to cook, and skin was a bit burned by the time we got the chicken cooked through

I didn't really follow his recipe.. I've been eating fried chicken all my life and just cooked it like I used to watch my grandma cook it.. But yea you can burn it if you're not careful. I use just enough oil to cover not quite half of the chicken

he says "uh" and "um" way too much.

for example: "the, uh, fried chicken is, uh best when fresh, but, uh, it can be enjoyed, uh, cold, uh, the next day, um, too."

He doesn't use a teleprompter. He occasionally does long zoom shots outdoors just to prove it.

He gets a little too close to the camera, and they use a little too much vaseline on the lens. Think softcore porn, but with cooking. The puppets are gay as hell, although I'm told he's not. Go figure.

The most useful episodes for me off the top of my head are the Fried Chicken, the Thanksgiving Turkey, and the Pot Roast episode.

Alton Brown did a book signing a few years ago, I think it was in Raleigh. My mom's still talking about it.
I like his show. I never cook anything, but it's entertaining to watch.

I always wanted to do a show for Food network where I would travel to colleges and visit local hang outs/restaurants/food festivals.... Or just see how different kids cook Ramen

Cuz I swear more college kids watch that channel than 35+ year olds.

The best is last summer where I downloaded 6-7 seasons of the show. And watched them. And loved them.

I've always thought that Ramen would make the ultimate secret ingredient on Iron Chef. I know someone would try making a Ramen ice cream.

I would also like to see an Iron Chef battle with Ramen. It'd be interesting to make a dessert out of it. Maybe make some Haystacks, and instead of Lo Mein, they use Ramen.
