Ok, new thread.

I just got a Dell E207WFP LCD and its hooked up to my Geforce 7600GT dual DVI head vid card via analog VGA adapters. its working fine as is.

But, i can not get DVI to work. When i use the DVI cable, the LCD just goes blank and goes to sleep. Is there a setting somewhere i need to enable for DVI output?

Also my vid card is dual head, but my display options don't show any dual head options.. wtf.

I installed the latest Gefore drivers and no change...

obvious answer : try another dvi output

second answer : it doesnt show up as two connections because nvidia is gay. you have to fumble ass backwords through menus for awhile, and boot with two devices connected for it to show up that way

good luck, hopefully its the cheaper / more returnable of the two that doesnt work.

I have a dead dvi port on a 6800gt ultra (BOTH OF THEM) so it could be the card.

My Dell 2001fp has a button on the front near the power button that switches from VGA to DVI, S-Video, etc...

Yeah, you probably just have to switch in the input on the monitor.

Some video cards don't show multi-monitor options, unless another monitor is actually connected/detected.

There's probably a setting then in the advanced options that maybe you have to check to enable DVI.

Windows software is so goofy sometimes like that.

he should still see input on both monitors when he boots up, then if it gets to windows and it goes blank it's a windows problem.

does the monitor work only with HDCP DVI? It appears that the monitor requires a HDCP DVI connection, maybe you need to enable HDCP on your video card

i first booted w/ two monitors, viola, dual display.

then w/ the CRT in control, i swapped to DVI and rebooted. ah ha! the lcd worked. then i fiddled w/ the shit for a bit and now its all good w/ one LCD via DVI.

^^^that's what I'm running right now, totally awesome experience.

except I'm having a problem with reflections on the road and a few other little affects looking a little, um, green. It's a driver/video card problem. running a 7900GS.

same monitor? can you run 1680x1050@75? i can only get 59 or 60hz. i'm not sure if it matters much, but the dell website says this display will do 1680x1050@76hz. i wonder if its a vid card limitation? hrm

well maybe thats right. if i go to any other res and hit menu, the menu shows the current res and then says 'optimal: 1680x1050@60hz'. so i guess this is as good as she gets

I have the 2005FPW. with the LCD you don't want or need anything above 60hz.

I'm pretty sure the green tint is with the drivers, on my old computer with the old 3x. series drivers I didn't have the problem, upgraded drivers and had the green. Now on the new computer with the latest drivers I have the green rubber buildup and water mist.
