The game is awesome. I played through the Japanese version but couldn't really get into all the side quests due to the language barrier. I can honestly say that in my opinion this is the best FF game to date. I just hope they didn't screw up the translation. I can't stand it when they use voice actors who would be better suited doing voices for saturday morning cartoons.

Picked up the game at midnight last night. Some of the people there were kinda scary lol. Here's a tip: if an enemy looks a lot stronger than all the other monsters you're fighting right now, DO NOT approach it. Trust me.

I just googled this game and it looks pretty good. I fell out of the FF loop after VIII. Can someone explain the Battle system in this game? Is it real time like Kingdom Hearts' battle engine?

It means when you kill multiple mobs of the same types. Like consecutive dog kills. You end up increasing the percentage rate of higher value drops the further up the chain you go. That's what I gathered from the strategy guide. Great game so far.

Picked up mine last night as well, and plugged away for about an hour. The only thing I can really gripe about is the camera, which is reversed from almost every other game I've playedwith adjustable cameras. I actually have to think when I try to use it. I'll get used to it. Great game so far, Vaan looks a little homo but at least he doesn't sound like Titus...

And btw....I think that guy in the pic in the background is actually supposed to be Jecht....which is almost worse

FFXII is exponentially better than X-2. I agree with you. I hated X-2 and only played about 4-5 hours in.
