He should have been a Bobcat, perfect 2 guard we needed.

my top 2 would have been roy or rudy gay: their stats after one game

ROY: 35 MP, 10-16, 20 pts, 3 reb, 2 assist, and 3 TO

GAY: 38 MP, 8-21, 21 pts, 8 reb, 0 assist, 1 TO, and 4 blocked shots

edge so far would be roy imo

oh, yeah and don't count out my sleeper Renaldo Balkman

^That's only one game.

I have no clue who will win Rookie of the Year, but it'll either be Roy, Foye, Morrison, or Gay.

Edge to Roy?

Gay had 8 boards and 4 blocks!

Foye isnt gonna be a factor this year. Way too much talent ahead of him.

Morrison has a chance only because he's a big name and will get minutes/points but realistically he shouldnt win.

Gay has a chance because he's sick.

But realistically everyone knows its gonna be Roy barring injury.

yes, but i was looking at field goal percentage, and who helped their team win; gay also got 3 OT's to pad his stats for that game

and by the way, here is big Ced's stat line from game one of his NBA career:

11 minutes, 1-1 Field goals, 2-4 on free throws, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks, 2 TO's, 4 points

The difference between Roy and Gay is that Roy is gonna be putting up those numbers every night.

Gay is going to be inconsistent and like mentioned above he played a 3 OT game. Roy is a stone cold baller and he's going to make the Blazers better instantly whereas Memphis has gone from a perennial playoff team to a doormat of the Western Conference this year.

I'd bet a lot of $ on Roy.

No one is give Marcus Williams any love. He lead rookies in the preseason with 16 pts/g I know Jason Kidd runs that offense but Williams is going to get a ton of time in the 2 slot this year

Doubt he'll be nba roy, but ced simmons is taking advantage of limited p/t

Against the Celtics

In 10 min. he scored 4 pts. 2 blocks, 1 steal, 2 rebounds but 2 to's

Not too bad for limited play time

How long is Redick out for?

Oh, and I'd like to submit Shelden Williams has having no chance. It's gonna be Roy (frontrunner), Gay, or Morrison no doubt..

I've seen Roy in person and he didn't shoot very well but you can tell he is going to get his stats on that team.. Plus he had I think 6 or 7 assists and no TOs that game...

^ I dont know how you could say that after tonight. He was pretty much the worst player on the court at all times except when Scalabrine was out there....

Not only could he not buy a bucket, he was giving up points/rebounds at a record setting pace.

He SUCKED tonight and he needs to get his act together. A great "scorer" needs to be able to put the ball in the basket a hell of a lot more efficiently than he's been doing.

I think he'll continue to get better but as of right now he's nothing more than a role player.
