I have two diamond rings to sell but I don't think they would do well on Ebay or Craig's List. They are from a previous engagement and my ex doesn't want them back and I don't want to keep them because of bad memories. I'm sure that the diamonds can be taken out and reset. Does anyone know any places that buy diamonds(not pawn shops!)? Thanks.

estate jewlers, non-chain jewlery stores...if you have them professionally appraised, then ebay is fine, and you can get your money out of them or more than you'd get by keepign them

The pawn shop at the intersection of Buck Jones and Jones Franklin is really nice. They have a jewelry showroom and there's an experienced man there that does repairs. I don't know what kinda price they'd give you, but it's worth asking.

Ive actually done well selling jewelry on eBay - I sold a 18" 14kt gold rope necklace that was $30 in the store for $65 believe it or not. Try setting a reserve on eBay, and you make get what you want. Or set a by it now or best offer.

Engaged once, two different rings.

I just feel that people wouldn't buy diamonds off Ebay. I know I wouldn't...and i feel that pawn shops just rip people off. Does anyone have any names of particular stores?

just keep the rocks and get them set into a new piece

i knew a guy from a back home that divorced his wife b/c she was cheating
he took her rock and had it crushed / then made a nice ring out of the crushed diamonds...lol

i agree - this sounds right up her alley - i'm surprised the guy didn't want them back to recover some of his losses - you must have really mindfucked the hell out of him

even got him to give you 2 rings

For the record, he threw me against a wall after 5 years of dating so I left him.

I don't want to keep the rings-why would I?

the best bet would be to consign them to an independent jeweler, some one that handles estate type stuff. Jolly's, Weatherman's, Bailey's are all good shops. pawn shops pay pennies on the dollar.
