If you were ever a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan (and you damn well should be!) then you should check out Mike Nelson's Rifftrax. http://www.rifftrax.com/
Mike was the main writer on MST3K and eventually went to the satellite of love when Joel left. Anyway, instead of the shitty flicks you never heard of, they are doing movies that most of us have seen. (Phantom Menace, X-Men, Matrix, etc.) I have watched a couple and they are just as good as MST3K was.
So, basically, if you were a fan of the show, give these a shot. 11/7/2006 12:01:32 AM |

great find, I hadn't heard about these I might watch the fifth element with 'em later this week
how hard is it to get it properly synced to the movie? 11/7/2006 11:32:50 AM |

not too bad, there are lots of things in there to keep you synced up.
and if you look around online, there are "sources" that have gone to the trouble of syncing them already. you just download the movie and the track pre-synced.
The one with Kevin are great because it is like having Tom Servo back. 11/7/2006 11:53:49 AM |

for any fans of rifftrax, there's somethin pretty cool goin down on thursday. there's going to be a showing of plan 9 from outer space with live riffing from the guys at rifftrax taking place at 700 different theaters around the country. looking at the list, it appears there's 2 theaters in raleigh doin this. i'll be at the one in charlotte thursday night.

how'd it go at your showings? i was shocked how full the theater was in charlotte. we lost signal for about 7-8 minutes but it actually worked out well cause it was out of sync before and when it came back, it was perfect. 8/20/2009 10:28:11 PM |

^Exact same thing at North Hills, actually... came about while that one guy was singing. I figured it was just our theater, though.
Was hilarious and uninterrupted during the actual movie, though.
