"According to Mary Jo Foley The day has finally come: Windows Vista is going gold. Foley mentions "the public announcement that Windows Vista has been released to manufacturing is going to happen tomorrow, November 8, around 11 a.m. PST, sources close to the company are saying." Once the RTM has been announced the build should appear on MSDN at the same time according to Microsoft's press release of yesterday."

I'm going to wait for the service packs before upgrading.

I'm going to wait a year minimum. If you don't remember the XP fiasco... trust me. Don't upgrade for a year. I pitty the fools who adopt early.

I've been using RC and I am pretty happy with it.

XP was a pretty easy early adaptation for me. I used it throughout the later beta's and right into the RC's and on and never had any horrible problems.

Now Windows ME is another story.

Yea XP was fine from RC2 onward.

I've been running vista since Alpha Longhorn builds and have had very few problems to speak of. I'll definitely check it out when our box-o-copies comes in.

I've been checking every so often and it looks like Vista is up for those that have MSDN subscriptions.

It gets released to MSDNAA on December 1. There will likely be additional delay getting it on E-Academy because they rarely have the system ready for new software until way after it is released.

MSDN through NCSU is a completely separate thing than logging in to the one on microsoft.com correct?
