Back this summer when I was looking for a place, I checked out this "apt" on Mayview Road. It was only $300, but I wouldn't make my dog live there. One of the saddest dwellings I've ever set foot in.

if you want ghetto fab--do it avent ferry style---a lot of places near the gorman avent ferry intersection...not exactly what I'd call gutter, but it is ghetto living at its finest

no, the $300 was without utilities, but it was grossly overpriced

I wish I could describe it well. The place made me depressed just being in there for a few minutes. The guy showing it had never been there before, and I could tell he was embarassed as hell.

Lake Park is the place for you. I pay $250 a month before utilities. It's not that bad if you are from a run down place. If you are from a big city like raleigh or charlotte you might think it isn't that nice but i like it. I can do whatever the fuck I want in this place and nobody says a fucking word.

Just purchase a condo in Driftwood manor... its actually a pretty safe area, lots of old people, and not too loud...

55k can get you a 2 bedroom condo, which basically turns your rent into roughly 3-400 per month depending on your loan structure. thats 150-200 per bedroom... get a roommate to pay 275, and you are living cheap man!

Second on Lake Park. It's a decent place and no one complains about anything over there. Rooms are cheap and just as good as other more expensive options.
