i've noticed the only time i hate refs is when they make bad calls against the team i'm pulling for

I actually thin Ron Cherry is one of the better ACC officials, him and that other African American Ref who explains every minute detail but i dunno if he is ACC or NFL or what.

but this line says it all for us

"A 90-minute meeting to review film from previous games now behind them, it's time to relax"

certainly you know they look at what we do poorly and kill us for it everytime it even comes close to happening.

interesting article though, they put in a TON of work for these games, never woulda realized it.

I don't see the problem with him buying Miami crap, outside of being a ref he can be a fan just like anyone else.

yeah, and the implication was that they pick up stuff at each of the schools they work. i don't see anything wrong with that.

also, the article specifically mentioned that a ref who is normally in the crew the article chronicled was subbed out because he is a miami alumn (they were working miami vs. va tech).

"Sometime between now and Wednesday, technical advisor Ted Jackson will comb over the game film, evaluating each official's performance. They'll never see those grades and instead will see only their end-of-season ACC ranking by position. It is this ranking that determines bowl assignments and crew assignments for next season."

That's a good way to help officials improve. I can see not evaluating every call, and pointing out all mistakes, but a general overview of their performance definitely wouldn't hurt to help make them better.
