South Park episodes take significantly less time to make. The American Dad had to be in production much earlier than SP.

I hear a SP episode can be made from start to finish in about a week.

I can't remember which episode it was, but there was some event that happened on either a Sunday or a Monday, and the episode that Wednesday was centered around it. They can churn episodes out really fast, and usually work around the clock the couple days leading up to the air date

^^ That's probably a lot of them.

Not an avid South Park watcher, but one of the ones I did watch was following the 2000 election where they did an excellent parody of the Bush vs. Gore election and its legalistic aftermath by doing a kindergarten election that was tied 7-7. Had to be done in only a few days at most. Best episode of South Park I've ever watched.

According to the commentaries on the DVD's they can in fact pump episodes out in a few days.

and its not like south park plots are so intricate and developed that you can't just take out a bit and replace it with, say -- sadaam's spider hole or the end of the 2000 election

if you look at the two episodes in question

the election one was really about technology and trapper keepers, and the spider hole one was really about canada and diversity i think

tonights american dad was a ridiculous rip off of south parks episode that was about the video game "world of warcraft". even the characters that american dad used looked identical to the characters that were used in the south park episode. i don't know which show was made first, but the south park version aired a few weeks ago, american dad sucks

ahah, I like the cut of yoru jib, NCState3333

Yea, the one SP episode that had the spiderhole dealie with Saddam only 3 days after it happened also had the results of the Canadian elections that had occurred less than two days prior. It was the one where they have to get to Ottowa or something and end up in Quebec.

Meanwhile shows like American Dad and the Simpsons take up to a year and a half from start to finish.

I agree and I liked both episode just thought it a little repetaticve and I know the war of worldcraft episode southpark episode wasn't one of those turn it out quick ones because the cg must have taken some time
