Anyone got pics or a video of his alleged chin-slap at his player late in the second half last night?

supposedly it wasnt that big of a deal, but anything like this with Bobby Knight will create alot of buzz.

yeah, espn is blowing this up more than need be....he just tapped his chin/cheek, much like a "come on, get your head in the game". I'm pretty sure the player isn't emotionally damaged.

turn on a tv. it's being replayed nearly ever 30 seconds on espn. seriously.

i think coach knight is awesome. i love his old school, man up, show respect for yourself, show respect for others, show respect for the game, be humble, be grateful attitude.

players are babied and pampered now. more coaches need to be like coach knight, and not pander to spoiled kids. he's teaching his players humility and respect - how the world works. he's telling them, "you're not better than anyone else just cause you play basketball".

oh god. now, "cold pizza" is going to have a clinical psychologist on the show later on to analyze coach knight's lovetap. i'm glad the rest of america (and the world) isn't as pussified as espn sans mike golic and jay bilas. the current poll on espn.com is: "did bob knight cross the line with his actions last night?" with 31,130 votes, "no" is the decisive response at 71%.

If Roy Williams had done this, no one would be paying attention.

Since Bob Knight is Bob Knight, not to mention only a few wins away from breaking Dean Smith's all-time win record, the UNC media will be keying all over him to try and tarnish him further.... Also doesn't help that he taught Coach K (UNC's least favorite coach ever).

^ You're right that if it war Roy it wouldn't be an issue. But I don't think it has anything to do with UNC, and has more to do with Knight's history of treatment of players. It wouldn't be an issue with most coaches.

[Edited on November 14, 2006 at 11:54 AM. Reason : ESPN is not the UNC media]

it looked to me that knight was raising the kid's head by poppin him in the chin, and it looked like he said, "look me in the eyes"

just a bunch of crap bein blown out of proportion.

its being blown way outta proportion

that being said i dont think he should have hit him as hard as he did, but the player wasnt even looking at him when the coach was talking. bob knight should just say he shouldnt have done it so rough, then everyone moves on. it's not worthy of a fine or anything

When your coach is talking to you, you look at him. If you don't, he has every right to make sure you're looking at him. Simple.

Outside the lines had 3 guys talking about it. The only one that has any sense is Jay Bilas.

Guess what...Jay said there is nothing to this story and that Knight wasnt out of line since the player and his family have no problem with what happened.

The other faggots are trying to make a story and look like bitches.

I think Bobby Knight is an excellent coach. Does anybody make a fuss when a football coach grabs a player by the facemask and jerks his head around because he did something stupid? No, this is only because its Bobby Knight, the media has to have a big story going into the new basketball season...so they are loving it.

Knight has every right to lift the kid's chin up to look him in the eye but the manner in which he did it was too violent. Watching in slow motion, you can see Knight was forceful enough to jar the kid's head and that's just unnecessary.

LOL UNC/MEDIA CONSPIRACY THEORY!!!!!!!!

^^^ the same kid's head probably moves just as much every time he jumps for a rebound and comes down to the floor. he didn't break the dude's fucking teeth out or give him brain damage, no blood, kid probably didn't even feel it. give it a rest.

Just saw the clip last night, and I can honestly say this is 100% ridiculous. He LIFTED the kids chin, it wasn't a slap. Anyone saying he was in the wrong knows nothing about what actually happened. It's disgraceful that anyone would call him out for that...
