Apparently MLB GMs want the league to look into using replays. I feel like this happens pretty much every year.

Most of the time I argue that instant replay should be used whenever possible. If the technology is there to make the correct call almost 100% of the time than do it. I can't stand the argument that bad calls and officals are just "part of the game", so we should deal with it.

That being said, I don't think that there is really a practical way to use instant replay in baseball, as many of the calls stop the play. So it's not really a good idea to say say, "If a ball is hit down the line and its a tough call play the whole thing out and then we'll make a decision"

BUT...I really see NO REASON at all not to use it in situations similar to that of the column, like the foul ball that should have been a homerun. I don't think there should be challenge flags or anything like that. Simply a guy sitting in front of a bunch of tv's all with different angles who could call down and say, "It hit the foul pole, homerun, end of story"

I've seen this happen before. They generally will do this.

I don't know. It was a Cubs/Sox game at Wrigley and I guess the ivy was in the way or something. Also, it would have been a grand slam had they not reversed it.
