I have a damn near perfect 2001 400ex bright yellow, nothing wrong with it and it has always been serviced on schedule, all i am looking to do is to trade or sell it and get a good working 4x4 quad. If anyone is interested or knows someone who is, just let me know. thanks 11/18/2006 6:12:27 PM |

anyone remember the Yamaha Wolverine?
are there any other sport-oriented 4x4 quads out there? 11/18/2006 7:22:20 PM |

The Polaris Scrambler fits that bill. It's a 400cc 2-Stroke + 4x4. They do exceptionally well in the "Utility" class racing from what I've heard.
Here's a pic of mine (dirty):
I passed a guy on a dirt road that said he was running around 50MPH, but he had bigger tires so that might not be accurate. The best part though is that I've never had this thing stuck. I've run it through creeks where the whole seat went under water, submerged all four wheels in deep mud, etc. and it always pulled through.

^^yeah, forgot about that. came out at the same time as the Wolverine as its competitor...but i've never had any interest in any Polaris, b/c I'd rather have a traditional transmission than the CVT. 11/19/2006 2:43:20 AM |

yea i know that i was just saying them 250r's are sick fast! my friends had one that was all built it would set next to my old katana (I know they are not that fast) but still a 600cc rocket till about 70mph. it was a wild quad. I never got to ride one of them quadzilla 500 that suzuki mad i bet the were wild too 11/19/2006 3:14:15 AM |

I have a 97 wolverine. I love that thing. If you could find one like an 05 thats not messed up i would say go for that. they handle really well and still have 4x4. i think they changed them for 06 or 07..in my opinion for the worse. they made them auto, took off the luggage racks, and made them more shitty looking.

I think everyone is going to cvt or hondamatic now, at least most of the big quads 11/19/2006 8:17:27 AM |

I've already put new fronts on it. I got a pair of Holeshots. Also added front and rear racks so that I don't have to get everyone else to carry my stuff when we ride.11/19/2006 9:07:22 PM |
