I own two businesses - one is a contemporary a cappella music production company (http://liquid5th.com), the other is a custom home theater business (http://customwiredonline.com). My music production company maintains a server that I am interested in having a Content Management System installed on, and after some basic research, I have decided to pursue either the Joomla or Drupal CMS.

If you think you are qualified to install, configure and show me how to use either of the above-mentioned CMS on a server running Ubuntu Linux, please contact me at (919) 656-7103. Pay is negotiable. I am looking for relatively immediate turnaround.

Thanks!

Just an FYI, as a long time user of Drupal, I would go with Joomla or Mambo instead.

Care to explain why you would steer away from Drupal? Is it too robust? I've heard it has alot more than I probably need, and the interface for Joomla looks like it might be a tad more appealing and easy to understand for clients...

Anyway, feedback is much appreciated!

yes, drupal is an absolute beast. If you aren't pretty code/theory saavy, it's not going to make sense at all how the taxonomy system works, and while it can do a LOT of stuff, most of it will require hand tweaking the codebase.

This is probably the best n00b post in Tech Talk in a while, someone asking for help, but they actually know about what they're asking for.

"hand tweaking the code base" doesn't sound too terribly friendly should something go wrong, so I think I'll steer clear of anything like that.

Noen, are you familiar with both Joomla & Mambo? (I thought Joomla was the latest incarnation of "Mambo" - is that correct?) If so, care to contact me about implementing this on my server, and showing me how to implement an existing site within the CMS? I'm relatively knowledgeable about CMS in general (enough to be dangerous with anyway...), so I should be a fairly easy teach.
