Ive noticed more and more bands having and enormous amount of members nowadays (not counting instrumental groups). Did the polyphonic spree start this trend?

I think it started with GYBE. They're instrumental, of course, but the revival of the orchestral rock band started there.

Sigur Ros only has four members. GYBE has nine.

Belle & Sebastian are worth considering, with an active rotation of seven to nine.

Sometimes I get mad when listening to Wu cause I want ot hear more verses from the talent and not just lines from Cappadonna or some other shifty rhymer.

Makes me think of that episode of Doug where they started a band and wound up with something like 19 drummers.
