Feels like the left front tire is vibrating at those speeds. Kinda pulls to the left. I haven't hit anything but it's due for a tire rotation and balancing. Anything else I should check associated with this?
Anyone on here work at a place they'd recommend bringing it to? 11/29/2006 11:23:31 AM |

I had a problem with my car shaking, when it had only like 20k miles on it - I took the car and had the tires balanced, and that didnt work, it was still shaking out of control - I put new brakes on it and had the rotors turned, and somehow it stopped shaking, cant explain it but it worked (and it wasnt shaking when I hit the brakes, it shook while I drove over 40 or so)

^^ can that happen on a FWD car? 11/29/2006 6:32:02 PM |

Pretty unlikely, though I've seen some halfshafts bent, and that will definitely cause a vibration. Usually results from four-wheeling a FWD car where you shouldn't be.
What's more, if a joint wears out enough, you'll get the same symptoms, though it will be at all speeds (except at very slow speeds). It's most common on the inboard tripod joints...the outboards will go to raising hell before the vibration ever gets that bad. 11/29/2006 7:42:27 PM |
