I enjoy the rivalry so much that it has put me in years of depression. Because we haven't found a coach that can beat them in Basketball/baseball/ or football consistently.

bama just had a 10-2 record prior to this year with both losses close ones to lsu and auburn...not exactly cupcake teams...he couldnt beat auburn, but i was against them firing him for that reason alone. anyway i wouldnt mind seeing him come here, hes a good coach

its not like a coach like Shula doesn't know how to coach against one team and can beat everybody else; he just hadn't done it yet. You could argue (and be right) that Auburn had the better team anyway so it isn't like he was losing w/ the better team; Auburn is pretty good.

Look at Mack Brown; it took him forever to be able to beat Oklahoma and now that he has done it they have won two years in a row; it goes in cycles. If Texas had fired mack after losing to oklahoma so many times in a row while beating everyone else they wouldn't have a national championship right now. you have to be patient w/ regards to something like this.

I think Shula is a good coach. He would be my fourth choice after Johnson, Fisher, and Donnan.

I dont disagree with any of you about Auburn being a good team.. You people do NOT understand the Alabama fan base. If Auburn had won 5 straight National Championships and Bama lost all 5 games against Auburn the coach would still be fired... The do NOT tolerate losing to Auburn it does not matter how good they are. period.

I understand beating a rival is very, very important. But if that is the case with that team then they are just asinine. Would anyone on here honestly care if we won 5 straight national titles but lost to UNC 5 times? It would suck not to beat them but we would have 5 straight NC's to rub back in their faces; at that point it wouldn't matter
